Highly anticipated Halloween tradition in Boston delights senior citizens, young students

Hundreds of Boston students joined residents and staff members at a senior living campus Thursday for an Halloween annual parade.
Every Halloween in West Roxbury, Edelweiss Village Assisted Living residents and German Centre nursing home residents are treated to a parade by kindergarten through sixth-grade students from St. Theresa of Avila School, which is just down the block.
“All the costumes — they’re very cheerful,” resident Beatrice Lee said.
“The residents really look forward to this every year. We’ve been probably doing this about eight years or so,” said Sean O’Grady, the assistant administrator and rehabilitation director.
“They’ve already been asking me all week, ‘When are the kiddos coming?'” said Amanda Doury, executive director of assisted living.
