Parkway Youth Hockey Program Donates to the German Centre
For the third year in a row, hockey players from the Parkway Youth Hockey Program made a Christmas donation to the German Centre.
Parkway Youth hockey is a local hockey program open to residents in the area – West Roxbury, Roslindale and Jamaica Plain.
These high school age hockey players bought and donated items to be given out as gifts on Christmas to the residents and patients on the rehab unit- such as Crossword books, Word Search and other activity books, playing cards, puzzles, a large variety of toiletries, including manicure kits and scented lotions, socks, scarves, candy etc. These items will be distributed on Christmas Day by the Residence Life Staff to the residents and short term rehab patients. The picture below shows a few of the Midget players who contributed to this years collection.
The event was organized by parents of the hockey players- Kathy Gallagher and Kathy Conneely, both West Roxbury residents. Kathy Conneely is an occupational therapist who has been working at the German Centre for over 14 years.
Thank you to all of the hockey players who contributed this year!
