German Centre Home Earns Deficiency-Free State Survey for Second Consecutive Year
German Centre Home, the skilled nursing residence of German Centre, has achieved a deficiency-free survey from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) for the second consecutive year — an important recognition of the residence’s commitment to quality care, resident safety and regulatory compliance.
German Centre is a nonprofit senior care organization serving Greater Boston and an affiliate of Legacy Lifecare, a network of mission-driven nonprofit organizations.
A deficiency-free survey is one of the highest distinctions a skilled nursing residence can achieve. It means that DPH inspectors identified no deficiencies during the survey, reflecting the residence’s compliance with applicable state requirements for quality of care, resident safety and operations.
“We are incredibly proud to be recognized with a deficiency-free survey for the second year in a row,” said Adam Ernst, CEO of German Centre. “It is a reflection of the hard work and commitment of our entire team. German Centre Home celebrated the achievement with a gathering that brought together staff, residents, families and friends. The celebration featured food, laughter and remarks recognizing the team whose commitment helped earn this distinction.
The achievement builds on German Centre Home’s ongoing 5-Star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), another important measure of quality in skilled nursing care.
“Survey results can also be a valuable resource for families evaluating senior care options,” said Ernst. “Quality indicators such as state survey results and CMS ratings can provide valuable information. We encourage families to look at the full picture, including quality, staffing, services, reputation and the experience of residents and families.”
German Centre offers a continuum of senior care services, including traditional assisted living, memory support assisted living, long-term care, short-term rehabilitation, long-term memory care and adult day health services.
