A Bountiful Harvest at Senior Place

Participants in Senior Place Adult Health planted a garden in pots and raised beds on our patio. Seeds and seedlings have been watched with great anticipation by the participants, the birds, squirrels and other animals. The leaves kept getting larger, the plants kept getting taller and the flowers started blooming. Watering faithfully twice a day during this terrible heat has paid off. We have enjoyed squash, cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, herbs and pretty flowers. We added a tent for shade, giving us more options for outdoor programs in the garden. It has been a true treat to have our own garden. Senior Place participants have enjoyed being involved with the garden and showing it off to others. We are now are reaping the benefits of a bountiful harvest.
