Please join us on Thursday, August 30 at 2:00 pm as we meet a candidate for Suffolk County District Attorney.
Shannon McAuliffe (D) has spent 20 years championing reforms to our criminal justice system. McAuliffe graduated from Suffolk University Law School and practiced law for 15 years, defending citizens charged with serious offenses in both federal and state courts. She represented more than 1,000 defendants and built a reputation for relentlessness, innovation, and integrity.
Wanting to affect positive social change on a larger scale, McAuliffe enrolled at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, where she studied adaptive, innovative leadership and policy around poverty and recidivism.
After graduating, McAuliffe became a director at Roca, a nationally recognized, innovative organization that disrupts the cycle of poverty and incarceration by helping high-risk young people transform their lives through positive relationships and access to education, life skills training, and employment programming. At Roca, she used data based models, built high-performing teams in Boston and Chelsea, and created partnerships with law enforcement and the courts to drive change. Her experience made her an expert in the complex path to change for Boston’s highest-risk young men.
The event is free and open to the public at Deutsches Altenheim: 2222 Centre Street, West Roxbury, MA.
