Supporting Quality Care - The Deutsches Altenheim
Foundation
Your Investment Will Make A Difference in Real
Lives
The Deutsches Altenheim Foundation serves as the
philanthropic arm of the German Centre for Extended Care. Gifts to the
foundation make a real difference in the health and well-being of our residents,
and the community at large.
A Tradition of Caring
The Annual Fund
The support of our community each year is essential to the
care we provide. Since 1914 we have been providing care and comfort for German
American and Greater Boston seniors.
The cost of care continues to rise as our residents come to
us older and more frail than ever before. All donations, regardless of size,
have an impact and help to improve the quality of our residents’ lives.

Honor the Past, Build the Future Capital Campaign
To meet the changing needs of the senior community, the
Trustees of the German Centre resolved to create much-needed assisted living
apartments. In order to make this a reality, the Honor the Past, Build the
Future Capital Campaign was launched in May 2000. The campaign’s goal of $1.25
million will provide a portion of the funds needed to build Edelweiss Village, a
62 unit assisted living building.
Memorial and Named Gift Opportunities are available to
those who may wish to have their names or those of loved ones forever associated

Annual Deutsches Altenheim Golf Classic
Since 1993, the annual golf tournament offers golfers and
volunteers the opportunity to join together to support the Foundation. Each
year, the funds raised at the tournament benefit a different need at the German
Centre. The most recent tournament netted $30,000 and will benefit the building
of Edelweiss Village.
Honor and Memorial Gifts
Gifts to the Foundation in memory of a special friend or
relative are a comforting expression of compassion and respect for the bereaved.
A special condolence will be sent on your behalf to family members to inform
them of the gift made in their beloved’s memory.
Celebrate the gift of life. Weddings, anniversaries,
birthdays and other milestone events are wonderful opportunities to show your
love, admiration, or gratitude to the special people in your life through a
thoughtful gift. The Foundation notifies all individuals when gifts have been
received in their honor.
